Before we ask for anything in prayer, we should start by acknowledging God's power and lordship and surrendering to His will. This increases our faith and puts Him first before our personal wants and needs. Jesus established this principle in the Lord's Prayer. Our lives, prayers, efforts, and service should all be for God's glory. If we approach Him with reverence, our prayers will touch His heart and we will receive what we ask for.
