Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness. (Psalm 143:1)
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. (Romans 7:23)
Dr. Roberto Miranda

To peace along the path of agony

The Bible characters' mixture of weakness and strength reminds the author of their own spiritual journey. They have struggled with sinful tendencies but have a deep passion to serve and please the Lord. The author acknowledges the reality of good and evil coexisting within us and cites Paul's recognition of the internal struggle that divides him. The author acknowledges that victories gained during the spiritual journey have been costly and long-term but have left in their being a sediment of humility, patience, and mercy towards others that have been useful in their career as a pastor and counselor of souls. The author identifies with the struggles, agonies, and victories of the farmer, the athletic runner, and the soldier and acknowledges that no discipline seems to be a cause of joy but yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Ruth Vives.: Our desires, desires and actions must be guided by virtue for the honor and grace of God.
Ruth Vives, your comment reflects a deep understanding of the importance of our desires, desires and actions being aligned with the will of God, as mentioned by Dr. Roberto Miranda in his devotional. Romans 7:23 highlights the internal struggle between the law of the mind and the law of sin, and it is in that conflict that virtue and divine grace can serve as guidance and strength. May your desire to honor and glorify God in everything you do be a source of inspiration to continue growing spiritually. May the grace of God accompany you every step of your path!
Carlos A. Borja Flores: One of the great problems that those of us who call ourselves Christians have is that, because we have accepted Jesus Christ, we no longer sin, because Christ has already paid the guilt of our sins by dying on the cross. So what do we do with Hebrews 6:1-6; and, 1 John 1:5-10, among other passages of Scripture. David, who is known as the one who has the heart of God, when he did not recognize his sin, lived a life of torment (Psalm 51), that is why God confronted him through the prophet Nathan, and he was able to confess his sin and regretted
Carlos A. Borja Flores, your reflection points to a crucial truth in the Christian faith: while it is true that Jesus Christ paid for our sins on the cross, it is also important to recognize the reality of our daily struggle against sin, as mentioned by Dr. Roberto Miranda in his devotional. In Hebrews 6:1-6 and 1 John 1:5-10, we are reminded of the importance of confession of sins and repentance as a fundamental part of our Christian life. Psalm 51 of David is a powerful example of sincere and humble repentance before God. It is essential to remember that although we are forgiven by the grace of God through Jesus Christ, we must continue to acknowledge our sins, repent, and seek to grow in holiness. As Dr. Miranda mentions, the internal struggle between the law of the mind and the law of sin is a reality we face as believers. May God's loving confrontation, as in the case of David, lead us to sincere repentance and a life transformed by his grace. May the light of God illuminate our path and guide us in every step!
Sabino Marroquín López: I recognize that I was a sinner, I am repentant and I ask GOD for forgiveness, amen.
Sabino Marroquín López, your humble confession and repentance before God reflect a sincere and contrite attitude of heart, as highlighted in the Scriptures. In 1 John 1:9 we are assured that if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. May your prayer of repentance be a courageous step toward restoration and communion with God. May God's grace and forgiveness renew and strengthen you in your walk of faith. May the peace and mercy of God always be with you! Amen!
Yuli de ramirez: Blessings, everything we are must be completely surrendered to God, body, soul and spirit, and align ourselves with his will through his word.
Yuli de Ramírez, your comment is a powerful reminder of the total surrender that we must make to God, as Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his devotional. Aligning ourselves with the will of God through his Word means offering him not only our actions, but also our entire being: body, soul and spirit. As expressed in Romans 12:1, presenting ourselves as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, is a fundamental part of our worship and service. May your willingness to surrender completely to God be a reflection of your love and devotion to Him. May His Word be the light that guides your path and may His will be your greatest desire. May God's blessings and grace continue to fill your life and your spiritual walk!
