Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God. (Hosea 1:10)
Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. (1 Peter 2:10)

Now we are children of the living God

God's sovereign grace can turn rebellious strangers into His children. Some of us were once so ungodly that we heard the voice of the Spirit saying "You are not my people," but now we hear the voice of God saying "You are children of the living God." This is a wonderful and hopeful transformation that should inspire gratitude and confidence in us. If God can change us, then there is hope for anyone. Let us continue to worship and trust in Him. Carlos A. Borja Flores: Devotional worth meditating on: Once we were rebels; and, by the grace of God we were made children of Him. Our actions must be focused on turning them into a permanent celebration through obedience to His Word; and, be grateful to the giver of grace. May God give us enough wisdom to understand what it means to be a child of God.
What a beautiful reflection, Carlos. It is shocking to see how God's sovereign grace can transform rebels into his children, as Charles Spurgeon mentions in his devotional. As 1 Peter 2:10 mentions, "You once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy."
