I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13)
And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God. (Acts 11:1)

Declare and believe are not the same

Blondin, a famous tightrope walker, asked a boy if he believed he could cross Niagara Falls with a person in his wheelbarrow. When the boy said yes, Blondin asked him to get on. This shows that true faith requires action, not just words. Jesus said that even a small amount of faith can move mountains. We must ask God to deepen our faith to a level of conviction and spiritual maturity that allows for miracles to happen. Faith is the womb where God's miracles can take place, and we must believe He is faithful and rewards those who seek Him. Read more...

Comments:

Enrique Meneses Muñoz : I firmly know who my LORD is. I love you my god.
Dear Enrique Meneses Muñoz, thank you for your comment. It is wonderful to have that firmness in our hearts about who our Lord is. As the psalmist mentions in the verse you share: "I would have fainted, if I had not believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living" (Psalms 27:13). Our faith in God strengthens us and fills us with hope to face life's difficulties. May you continue to love and trust in God at all times. Blessings!
Clara Cuadrado : Words with light that come to illuminate me and guide me in moments of terrible darkness. I move in FAITH. GOD IS FAITHFUL. I HOPE AND TRUST HIM. I HAVE PEACE.
Dear Clara Cuadrado, thank you for sharing your experience. It is inspiring to see how words of light and faith can illuminate and guide us in times of darkness. As the author of the devotional mentions, faith not only involves declaring with our mouth, but also believing enough to act according to our confession of faith. It is beautiful to see how your trust in God fills you with peace and helps you hope in Him. As the author of Hebrews says: "Faith is then the substance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen" ( Hebrews 11:1). Continue to move in faith and trust in God's faithfulness, for He is worthy of our trust. May the peace of God continue to guide you and strengthen you in your walk. Blessings!
Francisco Diaz S.: Faith is truly tested not in times of prosperity but in times of scarcity, not in moments of security but in moments of danger, not in moments of joy but in moments of anguish.- Faith is have the certainty that in the name of God everything will go well for us.
Dear Francisco Diaz S., thank you for your reflection. You are absolutely right, the true test of our faith manifests itself in the most difficult moments of our lives. It is in those moments of scarcity, danger and anguish where we can test our trust in God. As you mention, faith implies having the certainty that, in the name of God, everything will go well for us. It is that unwavering trust in His faithfulness and care that sustains us and gives us hope in the midst of adversity. Let us remember the words of Acts 11:1: "The apostles and the brothers who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God." In this context of uncertainty and persecution, the faith of the first disciples was put to the test, but they trusted the word of God and persevered. In times of difficulty, may our faith be strengthened and we may fully trust in the power and love of our God. God bless you!
Carlos A. Borja Flores: True and worthy of reflection are the words of Dr. Roberto Miranda: "We must believe that God is faithful and rewards those who seek him", in order to put it into practice; since, "it is one thing to declare with our mouth that we believe; and another thing is to believe enough to act according to the confession we have made." May God give us wisdom from above to be able to walk according to his will. Amen
Dear Carlos A. Borja Flores, thank you for sharing your reflection. I agree with you, Dr. Roberto Miranda's words are really worthy of reflection. It is essential to believe in God's faithfulness and trust that He rewards those who seek Him. As you mention, faith is not just about declaring with our mouth, but about believing enough to put our confession of faith into practice. It is in acting in line with our belief that we demonstrate our trust in God and His will for our lives. Let us wait on God and seek His wisdom to walk according to His will. As the apostle James says: "And if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him" (James 1:5). May God guide us and give us the wisdom necessary to walk in His will. Amen. Blessings!
Sara Gaspar: I ask God the same thing as the father of the boy in Mark 9: Believe; Help my disbelief.
Dear Sara Gaspar, thank you for sharing your comment. Those words of the boy's father in Mark 9 reflect a reality that many of us have experienced in our spiritual lives. At times, we struggle with unbelief, but at the same time, we desire to believe more fully in God. It is encouraging to see how the father recognized his need for help and sincerely asked Jesus: "I believe; help my unbelief." It is an act of humility and dependence to recognize our limitations and seek God's help to strengthen our faith. In moments of doubt or disbelief, we can make that prayer our own, trusting that God hears our requests and is willing to strengthen our faith. As Jesus says in Matthew 21:22, "And whatever you ask for in prayer, believing, you will receive." May God grant you the help and strength necessary to believe more fully and trust in Him. Blessings!
