Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbors, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. (2 Kings 4:3)
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)
Charles Spurgeon

God will fill all your lack to the brim

The passage from Philippians means that God will fill all our needs to the brim, just like the woman who had empty oil jars and received enough oil to fill all the borrowed containers. The more needs we have, the more God will fill them. He gives abundantly to His people and meets all our spiritual needs. We should be grateful for our needs, as they are opportunities for God to show His generosity. Read more...

Dear Enrique, it is beautiful to see your gratitude to God for everything He gives you. In Philippians 4:19, it says, "And my God will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Charles Spurgeon, in his related devotional, reminds us how God always fills our wants and supplies all our needs. He compares this to the story of the woman in 2 Kings 4:3, who borrowed vessels and God filled each one with oil. Just as God met the woman's needs, He will also meet yours. May you continue to love and trust in the Lord, knowing that He is faithful to provide for you. Blessings!

Sabino Marroquín López.: I trust in God to be able to carry out the project, to take advantage of the rainwater, because water is running out in the world, I trust in GOD, amen.
Dear Sabino, it is inspiring to see your trust in God as you work on your project to harness rainwater. As you mention, water is an invaluable resource and its scarcity is a worrying reality in our world. However, we can trust that God is at our side through every challenge and will guide us in our efforts to be good stewards of the resources He has given us. In your trust in God, remember the psalmist's words in Psalm 62:8: "Trust in him always, my people; pour out your heart before him; God is our refuge." May God strengthen you and guide you in your project to care for and use water responsibly. May your efforts be blessed and contribute to the preservation of this valuable resource! Amen.
