But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.

The Spirit of God departs from Saul and an evil spirit torments him. Saul's servants suggest that they bring someone who can play the harp to calm him, and they suggest David who has good reputation. David comes to the palace and plays for Saul, and the evil spirit within him leaves for a time. David becomes familiar with the environment and observes many things, which is part of the preparation of the Holy Spirit for him to become king. David sees an opportunity to defeat Goliath and neutralizes the daily insult to the Name of the Lord. When the Presence of God is in your life and you take advantage of opportunities, everything is possible.
