The Pentecostal revival and the praise and worship movement helped restore the importance of worship in Christianity. Worship is now seen as a powerful instrument to unleash the power of God, receive instruction and energy from the Holy Spirit, and create an environment for the gifts of the Holy Spirit to flow freely. Many view worship as a lifestyle and an essential part of worship with its own importance and functions. It is not just a transitional element towards preaching but a practical instrument to facilitate the moving of the Holy Spirit in any situation.
