And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you? (Joshua 18:3)
Do all things without murmurings and disputings: (Philippians 2:14)

Better is thanksgiving

The church sometimes becomes too focused on claiming God's promises and forgets to act and grow. Claiming promises can be like telling God he's doing things wrong. We should trust in God's grace and exercise control to mature in our Christian life. Like the tribes of Joseph, we often complain about not having enough and search for more blessings, but we should focus on being content with what God has provided and work to expand our territories. The church needs challenges, goals, and visions from God to avoid selfish complaints and claims. We should stay humble and avoid ostentation, putting our hope only in Christ. Thanksgiving is the greatest antidote to blurring ourselves and focusing on God's majesty. Read more...

gladis : Thank you very much for the word shared today. It was a blessing.
Hello Gladys! I am glad that today's word has been a blessing to you. In the devotional by Faustino de Jesús Zamora Vargas we are reminded of the importance of being grateful to God at all times, instead of complaining and demanding more blessings. As the book of Philippians 2:14 mentions, we must do all things without grumbling or arguing. We must also be attentive to God's will and act accordingly, as Joshua did in the suggested reading of Joshua 17-18. May God continue to bless you!

Wulfredo : Because God who loves disciplines. And firstly to the leader to the priest, to the Apostle to the pastor and also to the little sheep that stays in the tabernacle with pretexts. To be away from home. The Lord has told us that we are excellent stewards of the home. Where we are, everyone will see the grace of God. Amen
Hi Wulfred! You are absolutely right that God disciplines those he loves. As Faustino de Jesús Zamora Vargas mentions in his devotional, sometimes we complain and ask God for more blessings, when he is already blessing us with tremendous favors. We must be humble and grateful with what we have, and work to grow in our Christian life and be excellent stewards of all that God has given us. As you mention, this applies not only to leaders and pastors, but also to each of us as members of the church. May God give us the wisdom and strength to be faithfully responsible for everything he has entrusted to us! Amen.
