Bonds of Love: 83 People Came to the Feet of the Lord During the Summer 2006 Trip

Summary: The mission trip to the Dominican Republic combined the proclamation of the Word with social outreach to people in need. God worked through ordinary men and women moved by their passion to serve his Kingdom: 443 people received free medical care and medication, 83 gave their lives to the Lord, 483 children participated in a Bible school, and 143 haircuts were given. Even one of the town’s best-known witch doctors was converted, and the public outreach was so remarkable that four streets were closed. This work should inspire us to take part in future trips and to recognize that there is still much ground to cover in evangelism. We must also share Christ here, boldly and without fear, inviting others to church and proclaiming the Word in season and out of season. The Lord can prepare hearts before we arrive; therefore, let us cast the net with confidence and expect fruit.
The brothers and sisters from “Bonds of Love,” this missionary service ministry, went to the Dominican Republic on a short trip to bring the Word and provide social services to people in need there in the Dominican Republic.
And we cannot just leave that hanging in the air; we have to celebrate what God is doing through ordinary, humble men and women whose only passion is to serve the Kingdom of God.
Glory to God. God bless you, brothers and sisters. We are overjoyed; the Lord did wonderful things. We held the medical outreach we told you about; 443 people were seen by the doctors, and they all left with their medications free of charge. We had 83 conversions; 83 people came to the feet of the Lord. We held a Bible school with 483 children. We gave 143 haircuts. The Lord gave us a tremendous blessing, which we will let the pastor tell you about later, because he does not know about it, and we want to tell him personally so that he can then tell the church. It was tremendous.
We closed off four streets in the town. The people from the bars and the large corner stores just kept saying, “Now it really is true. The evangelicals’ patronal festivities have begun.”
It was tremendous. One of the most prominent witch doctors in the town also converted to the Lord. We are blessed. These sisters went with us for the first time this year; next year, we hope to see many of you going with us as well. Okay? My love, one minute...
One minute, and I have 15 seconds. I am truly very glad and happy to be here, my brothers and sisters. I want to encourage you not to stay behind next year, my brothers and sisters. I have spoken with many brothers and sisters who have told me that they are interested in evangelizing with us, and this is your great opportunity. I think we are scheduling it for July again, so arrange your vacation accordingly. We will talk. We will try, because there truly is a lot of ground to cover there; some good evangelistic work is waiting for you. So be encouraged, brother; we need those brave gentlemen, yes, because...

Yes, brothers and sisters, we must keep evangelizing. We must keep proclaiming the Word of God. It says, “In season and out of season”; this is the time, brothers and sisters, when I believe we must be bold in proclaiming the Word of the Lord. And people will come, brothers and sisters. You will begin speaking to them, and they will say, “All right, I surrender; I give myself to the Lord,” because they will be ready. The Lord will prepare them before you even arrive. Dare to share the Word. Invite someone to church; tell them about Christ. Do not be afraid, in the name of the Lord. Do it. Cast the net, and you will see that you will catch many fish.
