A Pastoral Letter to the Virtual Community

Summary: We give thanks for the blessings the meditations are producing and for the privilege of serving God’s people. Although we lack the staff and resources to respond individually to every comment, prayer request, or need for counseling, this virtual community can care for and minister to one another with the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. United as the Body of Christ across nations and continents, let us use the comments to heal wounds, encourage those who are struggling, counsel the perplexed, and pray for those who suffer. In this way, we put the gifts of prayer, counseling, and teaching into practice, for gifts grow through use, and we help form a true virtual congregation.
Greetings, my beloved brothers and sisters of God Speaks Today. I declare God’s richest blessings over your lives. Every day I rejoice as I read your comments about how God is blessing your lives through the meditations we produce on our website. It is a true privilege to serve God’s people and to know that our efforts are not in vain.
One of the things we regret in our God Speaks Today ministry is that we do not have the staff or resources to respond personally to each of your comments or prayer requests. May the Lord grant that, in time, we develop the financial resources to add people who can respond to the questions and requests for counseling that you submit to us each day.
Remember, however, that this is your website, your virtual community where, through the Internet, you can shepherd and minister to one another with the wisdom that the Holy Spirit gives to his people.
I love seeing how some brothers and sisters, through their comments, take responsibility for responding to a distressed mother, someone new to the faith, or someone struggling with resentment, depression, or loneliness.
You are the Body of Jesus Christ, united by the Head, who is Christ, and joined as brothers and sisters by the Holy Spirit across different nations and continents.
I continue to encourage you to use the comments section to bless one another, becoming men and women pastors whom God uses to heal wounds, encourage those who struggle, counsel the perplexed, and pray for those who suffer.
Through your comments, you can put into practice the gifts God has placed in your lives. You can grow in the gift of prayer, counseling, or teaching.
Gifts are developed through use. Pray that the Holy Spirit will give you the wisdom and ability to develop a true virtual congregation where all the gifts of the Kingdom of God are evident.
