SUMMARY: The Lord's Prayer is a model of prayer that includes a fundamental petition for forgiveness. Confessing our sins to God is essential for our spiritual health and healing. Living a morally neglected life and trying to cover up our sins can have negative consequences. Instead, we should humble ourselves, confess our faults, and trust in God's mercy. Learn to rejoice in God's forgiveness and live in the light of truth and transparency towards God and others.

The Lord's Prayer is a compendium of fundamental petitions for human life. It is just a model of the kind of prayer we can offer to the Lord, and it implicitly invites us to add our own essential requests when faced with similar needs.

One of the things that every human being will need at some point in his life is God's forgiveness. Transgressing God's law is inevitable, and we will always have to come before Him, many times a day, and confess our faults. The wonderful thing is that the Bible says that “if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1: 9). On the other hand, "if we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us" (vs. 10).
