The other side
Faustino de Jesús Zamora VargasVoice of God, voice of command. We are still in the same boat; Jesus and you, Jesus and me. Going to the other side can be difficult, especially if we already get used to living this part of life; But he invites us to get into his boat, sure because the one who goes in it is God himself. A boat of grace in a sea that is calm today and tomorrow storm, can lead us to the prejudice of the doubt. It happened to the disciples and they were afraid when the storm came and the sea was rough while Jesus slept. Woe to him who says that his soul is not moved when temptations and problems come!
But Jesus got into the boat and ordered us to get into it and go to the other side. All the will of God in such a simple command, an invitation to follow him with a perspective of grace and a conviction of faith. Do we really have faith? If he invites, do not doubt the course; if he orders, it is best to obey.
Christmas is one of those boats that Christ invites us to get on to pass "to the other side." The side on which we restore the legs of the broken tables, we resurrect friendships shattered by apparent disappointments, we turn on the light of Christ to illuminate the human heart, we embrace our children stronger, we discard all useless strife infused by hatred and apply, without pretense to get nothing in return, recipes of the best love. Since Christ is the builder of the boat, we should fear nothing. The other side is the side of Jesus.
All Christmas scream this message. Jesus came into the world to do better.
God bless your word!
