The Second Coming - What things have to happen before?
Dr. Roberto Miranda(Audio: Spanish)
SUMMARY:
In this teaching on the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, the focus is on 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10. The doctrine of the Second Coming is important because it gives hope to believers who face tribulations, struggles, difficulties, persecutions, and the like. The Lord will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night, and believers must be sober and vigilant, keeping an eye on the signs of the times. The Second Coming will be a spectacular event where the Lord Jesus appears from heaven with the angels of His Power in flames of fire. Those who rejected Jesus Christ will suffer eternal damnation and exclusion from the Presence of the Lord. The Second Coming is a time of redemption, blessing, and confirmation for believers.
The author discusses the concept of the Second Coming and the need for balance between healthy expectation and living life calmly. They caution against being deceived by those who predict the immediate arrival of the Lord and emphasize the importance of following the signs of the times. The author also mentions the idea of apostasy, a turning away from God's truth in the last times, and how humanity is experimenting with lies and errors, turning away from God. They discuss the various movements in culture, science, and philosophy that are leading to experimentation with sexuality, relationships, and the rejection of absolute values. Ultimately, the author believes that humanity needs a fixed point of reference in God and His Word.
The speaker discusses the concept of apostasy and how it is leading humanity away from God and towards a more secular, rationalized way of thinking. He also notes that apostasy is occurring within the Church itself, with some churches becoming more focused on being welcoming and accepting rather than on upholding the teachings of Christ. The speaker then discusses the concept of the Antichrist, a powerful demonic figure who opposes everything that is divine and is endowed with supernatural abilities. The Antichrist is said to sit in the temple of God as a god, which the speaker interprets as referring to the Hebrew-Jewish temple in Jerusalem. The speaker notes that the temple has not existed since its destruction by the Roman Empire in 70 AD, but that many prophecies speak of its re-establishment in the last days. The speaker also notes that the Jewish people became a nation again in 1948, fulfilling a prophecy in the Bible.
In this sermon, the speaker discusses the importance of the restoration of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem in relation to biblical prophecy. He explains that the construction of the temple will signify the completion of Israel's restoration and the beginning of a series of events that lead to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. The speaker also warns of a deceitful spirit that will fall upon humanity in the end times and emphasizes the importance of sound doctrine and teaching to protect against this deception. The speaker encourages the congregation to remain faithful to the Word of God and become more defined in their beliefs and teachings.
The preacher emphasizes the importance of preaching the Word of God with clarity and specificity, even if it may not be popular or politically correct. He warns of false doctrines and apostasy in the last days, and urges Christians to remain committed to the sound doctrine and truth of the Bible. He encourages Christians to resist the temptation to follow the latest religious fads and to stay focused on the teachings of Jesus. He concludes with a prayer for the Church to stay true to the Word of God and to fulfill its calling in these last times.I want to finish this key teaching that I feel the Lord has placed in my heart to share with my Church at this time about the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that even the proclamation of this doctrine has value and a prophetic role for us at this time in the life of our Church. Knowing a key doctrine in the times we live in in all its extension and complexity. So I hope today to wrap that up, finish it and give this part to the Lord.
Second Thessalonians chapter 1 we go to verse 7. Originally I was not going to touch on this topic here in this text but I was going to go to chapter 2 which is where this teaching of the Coming of the Lord is central but here is something also important that we want to see . Do you remember that last Sunday we talked, among other things, about some points that were pointed out in First Thessalonians chapter 5 verses 1 to 11 where it was said that the day of the Lord would come? says how? "like a thief in the night" right?
