Make time, take time to know God

For a man like David, a warrior King, we observe how that during different seasons of his life, he had been chased and hunted as he ran and hid from vengeful enemies. Many people today feel as though they are experiencing these same kinds of feelings. In some cases, these enemies may be actual, but for many, the enemies are in our minds or in fairly safe social settings. In our scripture text for today, David was likely in one of those seasons when King Saul, Absalom, his son, or the whole Philistine army was out to kill him.
David writes in Psalm 86 and verses 14-16.... “O God, insolent people rise up against me; a violent gang is trying to kill me. You mean nothing to them. But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. Look down and have mercy on me. Give Your strength to your servant; save me” (New Living Translation).
