Repose

SUMMARY: The author reflects on the sincere faith of David as expressed in his Psalms, particularly his recognition that his soul may be downcast but that his rest is in God. The author notes that we must also recognize that everything in our lives is a gift from God and that we are stewards of these blessings. We must also recognize that we are not in control of others' actions, even those of our children, and that we should not blame ourselves for their choices. Instead, we should instruct, guard, and invite them into relationship with God. The author concludes that Jesus humanized himself to know what it feels like when uprooting arrives, and that we can take comfort in his example.

When I read David through his Psalms, I marvel at the sincere faith of his heart, he says: "Why are you downcast, my soul, And why are you troubled within me? to praise him, my Salvation and my God " (Ps 43.5) Later in Psalm 116.7" Return, my soul, to your rest, For Jehovah has done you good. "

David recognizes that His soul is downcast and sad, but his rest is the God of Israel and he recognizes all the blessings of God in his life, therefore, he tells himself that he must rest in the arms of his Father.
