Occupy a humble place

RESUMEN: Humble hearts seek grace and receive it abundantly. They submit to its influence and abide in the valleys where the streams of grace flow. Humble hearts are thankful for grace and give glory to God, which leads to more grace. To receive grace, we must humble ourselves and acknowledge our unworthiness. Grace makes us humble and finds opportunities to pour out more grace. Let us be humble and be exalted by the grace of God.

Humble hearts seek grace, and therefore obtain it. Humble hearts submit to the sweet influences of grace, and thus grace is lavished on them more and more abundantly. Humble hearts abide in the valleys where the streams of grace flow, and thus they drink from them. Humble hearts are thankful for grace and give the Lord the glory of it , and therefore it is consistent with His honor that He gives them grace.

Come on, dear reader, occupy a humble place. Be small in your own estimation, so that the Lord will make much of you. Perhaps the sigh breaks out: "I'm afraid I'm not humble." Perhaps this is the language of true humility. Some are proud of being humble, and this is one of the worst types of pride. We are needy, helpless, unworthy creatures, deserving of hell, and if we are not humble, we should be. We are to humble ourselves for our sins against humility, and then the Lord will give us to prove His favor. Grace makes us humble and grace finds an opportunity in this humility to pour out more grace. We have to descend so that we can ascend. We have to be poor in spirit for God to make us rich. Let us be humble so that we do not need to be humbled, so that we are exalted by the grace of God.
