Obedience I want, says the Lord
Dr. Roberto Miranda(Audio: Spanish)
As you remember, I was talking about the Lord's call to a life of facts and not just emotions regarding the work of holiness, the life of holiness. The Apostle Paul says that the Gospel does not consist of words. Words are beautiful, feelings are beautiful, but the Bible speaks of obedience, "I want obedience, says the Lord." That is what truly moves the heart of God, when we obey his word.
That is why James says in 22, 'but be doers of the word and not just hearers.' If anyone is a hearer, he says, but not a doer, he deceives himself. I made some notes here many years ago, more than I care to remember. These yellow papers are more yellowish, I think because they are old than because of their original color. But I wrote here many years ago, there are people who come on Sundays and sit in the sanctuary to listen to the sermon. They like what the preacher says and for a moment they get excited and excited but then they forget what they heard.
