SUMMARY: The poem reflects on the wonder and sacrifice of Jesus' birth as a baby, born to a young girl and a mortal man. It describes the uncertainty and danger surrounding his birth, and the immense responsibility of caring for the most valuable creation. The poem thanks Jesus for his sacrifice and dedication to guiding us, and for giving his life to give us life. It concludes by thanking the "Ancient of days" for coming to us as a baby.

Baby, how much load on your small and weak shoulders, all the fullness of the deity in such a small creature. Baby, you were a tiny seed growing in the adolescent womb of a girl, something unexpected and with a perspective of danger, who would understand that a young girl who had not yet been deflowered could have conceived? How to explain who your Father was?

Poor Mary and Joseph, two mere mortals with the mission of caring for and protecting an invaluable treasure, the most valuable of all creation. The pain of the tortuous path through the birth canal in order to go out into the world that you created yourself, but it had to happen this way for your body to experience the miracle of being born.
