How many opportunities does the Lord give us
Fanny RodríguezI have a student that I will call Dina. He is very intelligent, he likes to work and he delights in math classes trying different strategies to solve problems, he is 10 years old. But she has some serious flaws in her character : she is aggressive, she does not know how to resolve conflicts by dialogue but by mistreating and did not understand the importance of respecting authorities ("Let everyone submit to the authorities ..." Romans 13: 1 ). It may not seem like something new to you in childhood, because she is not the only student with these problems; However, after 9 months of guiding her in these areas, she still reveals herself to accept responsibility for her actions.
Last week she came with her older sister to my class, with a nicely written note to allow her to change her recess schedule so she could practice for a talent show. Unfortunately the day before his behavior had been extremely inappropriate and he had missed recess. When I read the note I looked into her eyes and asked her if she thought she deserved that privilege; she thought and remembered the day before and said "no". So I said, "Well maybe you need another chance, if your behavior improves, we may be able to make arrangements, but you can't go today." Notice the disappointment but she also acknowledged her mistake once again. I thought this lesson would help and encourage you in the need to develop the self-control that we have talked about hundreds of times during the year.
