Finding Strength in the Face of Persecution
Ernst DiehlAcross continents and cultures, Christians face discrimination, violence, and even death simply for professing their faith. From North Korea's oppressive regime to Pakistan's blasphemy laws, from Sri Lanka's sporadic outbreaks of violence to the political and cultural hardships in the Middle East, the persecution of Christians knows no bounds.
In the face of such adversity, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed and discouraged. Yet, like the psalmist who sought refuge in God, we too can find solace in knowing that we serve a God who is our stronghold and our deliverer. In the darkest moments of persecution, when we are handed over to authorities and faced with hostility, we can trust in God's promise to provide us with the words and wisdom we need to endure.
The stories of persecution may be harrowing, but they are also a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the power of faith. From the missionaries spreading hope in the midst of danger to the persecuted Christians standing firm in their convictions, their courage and resilience serve as a beacon of hope for us all.
As we stand in solidarity with our persecuted brothers and sisters, let us lift them up in prayer and support. Let us be inspired by their example to live out our faith boldly, knowing that we serve a God who walks with us through the valley of the shadow of death.
