God knows who to release, and when to release, and how to release
Charles SpurgeonThe godly are tempted and tested. Faith that is never put to the test is not true faith. But the godly are freed from their trials, and that is not by chance, nor by secondary agencies, but by the Lord himself. He personally assumes the office of liberating those who trust Him. God loves the godly who follow Him, and He has the purpose of knowing where they are, and how they are doing.
Sometimes their path seems to be a maze, and they cannot imagine how they will escape the danger that threatens them. He knows who to release, and when to release it, and how to release it. He delivers in the way that is most profitable to the godly, most crushing to the tempter, and most glorifying to Himself. We can leave the "how" to the Lord, and be content to rejoice in the fact that He, one way or another, will cause His own people to overcome all the dangers, trials, and temptations of this mortal life, to the glory of His own. right-handed.
On this day it is not for me to pry into the secrets of my Lord, but to wait for His time patiently, knowing this, that although I do not know anything, my heavenly Father does.
