God is never ahead and never behind

RESUMEN: God's timing for His mercies is perfect. We may be in a hurry for blessings, but God's time is the best time. The Word of God is living and will come to pass, even if it seems delayed. We should be patient and trust in God's faithfulness, as none of His promises will fail or need renewing. We should rest in Him and find peace. This message is from The Bank of Faith Checkbook by Charles Spurgeon.

Mercy may seem time consuming, but it is certain. The Lord has established, with infallible wisdom, a time for the outflows of His gracious power, and God's time is the best time. We are in a hurry; the sight of blessing stimulates our desire, and accelerates our yearnings; but the Lord will keep His signs. He never gets ahead; He is never late.

It is said here that the Word of God is a living thing that will speak, and that will come. It is never a dead letter, as we are tempted to fear when we have long waited for its fulfillment. The living Word is coming from the living God, and although it seems to be delaying, in reality it is not delaying. God's train is not late. We just have to be patient, and soon we will see for ourselves the faithfulness of the Lord. None of His promises will fail: "He will not lie." None of His promises will be lost in silence: "He hastens to the end." What comfort will he speak into the ear of faith! None of His promises will need to be renewed like a bill that could not be paid on the day it was due: "it will not be long."

Come on, my soul, can't you wait for your God? Rest in Him, and be still in unspeakable peace.
