RESUMEN: The author's sister was diagnosed with a rare disease called Scleroderma and was given only a few years to live. The family prayed and fasted, asking God for mercy and healing. Despite attending a conference where they saw many people with disfiguring symptoms of the disease, the author felt a supernatural conviction that God would heal their sister. Miraculously, the disease stopped progressing, and their sister has been healthy for 18 years without any medical explanation. The family believes that God showed his power and great mercy in this situation and prays for others going through similar circumstances.
I would like to share an experience that had an incalculable impact on my Christian life. God was pleased that I was a witness of his healing power and his great mercy towards mine.
I remember years ago we were notified that my sister had little time left to live, due to a disease that had developed. My sister was not yet 27 years old, and she was the mother of two children when she was diagnosed. According to the doctors, his entire immune system had been weakened. Her muscles, skin, and organs would harden, in a slow and agonizing process, ultimately rendering her lifeless. The diagnosis was "Scleroderma".
My entire family was deeply shocked by this news. For my mother and my elderly grandmother, this news was devastating. A disease that we did not know about, that we had never heard of. We were afraid of not knowing what we were dealing with.
But as a Christian family that we have been for generations, we began to ask God for mercy, without questioning him, only begging him for his favor. We did not know what his last will would be, but we trusted his promise that everything that happens in our lives works for the good, according to his word (Romans 8:28).
As the disease progressed, we also advanced in prayer and fasting, without giving up, trusting in God's mercy. We all knew that He could turn this tragedy into a blessing.
I remember that on one occasion my sister asked me to accompany her to a Scleroderma conference, which her Doctor had recommended. At this conference we saw many people disfigured by the disease, many of them in wheelchairs due to their advanced condition. We left that place totally saddened, frightened, with a number of conflicting emotions, which we did not know what to do, or say. I remember that while we were waiting for the person to pick us up, through tears I told my sister: we were serving a powerful God. He is the owner and Lord of our lives, He will have the last word in your illness. I told him with a supernatural conviction: God is going to heal you. However, at that time everything indicated otherwise because the traces of the disease could already be seen on his body. Doctors had prescribed a number of medications which she did not want to take, because she knew that the side effects could be worse than the disease itself.
But without realizing it ... without a specific moment, without knowing how, the miracle happened. Slowly the disease stopped - Glory be to God.
From the 2 to 3 years that gave him life, 18 years have already passed. The doctors do not explain what happened because even she did not take medication to be able to attribute her healing.
God to confirm that He had done the complete work, granted another son to my sister, thus confirming that her entire organism was in good condition. Our Eternal Father wanted to show his power and great mercy among us, and in the process increase our faith.
Prayer: Lord, we ask that you show your power and great mercy to those who are going through similar situations right now. In Jesus your son. Amen.
