April 30, 2017: Interview with Andrew Beckwith
Andrew BeckwithRESUMEN:
Pastor Roberto interviews Andrew Beckwith, the President of Massachusetts Family Institute, about his personal background, the work of his organization, and the importance of defending family values and religious liberty in the public square. They discuss the role of the Church in shaping the moral fabric of society, the need for balance between grace and truth in conversations about sexuality, and the consequences of not following God's plan for marriage and family. They also touch upon the high rates of fatherlessness in Massachusetts, and how churches can become sanctuaries for those affected by the sexual revolution.
Andrew Beckwith from Massachusetts Family Institute spoke at a church in Springfield about the need for churches to address tough issues like abortion, gay marriage, and transgenderism in a safe space. He discussed the sex education curriculum in public schools, the rights of churches to protect their spaces, and the legalization of recreational marijuana. He encouraged citizens to opt-out of pot shops and repeal the law allowing men to use women's bathrooms. The church also offers a Sunday school group called Engage the base state to address these issues from a biblical perspective. The materials will soon be available in Spanish.Pastor Roberto: Andrew you have chosen to be here with us today, we wanna know a little bit about you first of all as a person, and your walk with the Lord, let’s hear the human part of you and not just the issues you fight with.
Andrew: It is a joy to be here with you today and to worship with you, I grew up in west Newbury, Massachusetts, up in the north shore, my mother was a school teacher and my father automechanic, I was blessed with a very strong, loving family, and when I graduated in school I went to Gordon college and I appreciate your continued leadership within that institution, in Gordon. When I got married I went to law school, and then joined the marine corps.
