Now begins the best that God has for you
Dr. Roberto MirandaRESUMEN:
Psalm 1 teaches us the importance of having a personal relationship with God and living based on His Word. The psalmist begins by highlighting what the blessed person does not engage in, such as associating with evil, sinners, and mockers. There is a progression in the decline of a person, beginning with associations and ending with mocking. It is important to observe what we consume in our minds and hearts, as it can dull our spiritual desires and lead us down a path of evil. As children of God, we must redeem our time and take care of what we listen to, see, and with whom we associate. The blessed person lives a life under the blessing of God, even in times of affliction and struggle.
In this sermon, the speaker discusses the importance of delighting in and meditating on the word of God. He warns against the dangers of being too intellectual and humanistic in one's approach to the Bible, which can lead to rejecting simple truths and being mocked by non-believers. He emphasizes the need for Christians to cultivate an innocence and simplicity in their relationship with God and to have a hunger for His word. The speaker also uses the image of a tree planted by streams of water to illustrate the blessedness of a person who delights in the word of God and meditates on it day and night. Ultimately, the message is that the word of God is a source of nourishment and strength for the Christian, and that it should be the object of their meditation and reflection at all times.
The speaker discusses how as people age and face difficulties, they often lose their vigor and confidence. However, those who have a strong relationship with God and rely on the power of His word can be renewed and find strength even in old age. It is important to actively cultivate a positive attitude and confess the promises of God. The speaker encourages listeners to fight for their blessings and use the word of God as a tool to combat the enemy. Trusting in God's timing and living in His will brings emotional health and peace. Ultimately, people are called to bear fruit, to give, serve, bless, lead, and teach, and to have an impact on others.
Living a balanced life involves doing our part and letting God do his part in his time. Trusting in God's timing leads to a healthy and blessed life. The promise of God is that everything we do will prosper and we can enjoy the blessings of life while staying within God's will. Trials and difficulties are meant to shape us into strong warriors for God. We can have confidence in God's faithfulness and victory in all our battles. Let us receive and live out this message from God.Psalm number 1 is the first psalm of a book that has dozens and dozens of Chapters and psalms so it must be interesting what God has to say in an exceptional way perhaps in this psalm. So let's read it together. Says:
“…Blessed is the man, blessed is the woman, who has not walked in the counsel of evil nor has she been in the way of sinners, nor has she sat on the seat of mockers, but in the law of Jehovah is her delight, and in his law she meditates day and night. It will be like a tree planted next to streams of water that bears its fruit in its season and its leaf does not fall and everything it does will prosper. Not so the wicked, who are like the chaff that the wind sweeps away, therefore the wicked will not rise in the judgment, nor the sinners in the Congregation of the just because Jehovah knows the path of the just but the path of the wicked will perish..."
