He will shine as surely as the sun

RESUMEN: The promise of the sun rising after a dark night is a reminder of the coming of Christ, who brings justice and mercy. Those who fear the Lord and walk in His ways will experience a short night and everlasting joy. Christ will shine like the sun, bringing healing and clarity to those who wait for Him.

Fulfilled once in the first advent of our glorious Lord, and yet to be fully fulfilled at His second coming, this gracious word is also for daily use. Is the reader in the dark? Is the night sinking into a denser blackness? Even so, we must not despair: the sun will still rise. When the night is darkest, the aurora is closer.

The sun to be born is not of the common type. It is the sun: the Sun of Justice, and each of its rays is holiness. He who comes to rejoice us, comes in the way of justice as well as mercy, and will not violate any law even to save us. Jesus manifests both God's holiness and His love. Our liberation, when it comes, will be safe because it is fair.
