Remember Lot's Wife!

RESUMEN: Lot's wife became a pillar of salt because she disobeyed God's command to not look back while fleeing from destruction. This represents believers, the church, who are saved by God's grace but become stagnant and unresponsive to the Holy Spirit's direction. This happens when we cling to material possessions, stay connected to the past, walk behind God, and do things behind His back. We must remember Lot's wife as a warning to live in the present and look forward to the future with excitement. A determined believer learns from the past, lives in the present, and looks forward to the future.

Being connected to the past does not allow us to enjoy the present, much less puts us in a good position to launch into the future. It is unfortunate to say that many times we live with a present calendar, but the date on our emotional calendar indicates earlier dates which is called "past." On one occasion, our Lord Jesus Christ gave a warning which is recorded in Luke 17:32 and it was that we remember Lot's wife. Why is this woman not to be forgotten, but to be remembered? What should we remember about this woman? The answer is simple: We must remember and not forget that this woman became a pillar of salt.
