The Wounded Soul

When the world has cut you deep, and silent sorrows you must keep, With heavy burdens on your soul, losing grip and losing hold. Searching for a truth unknown, on foundations overgrown, A whisper from the dust and pain, hoping life will bloom again.

The thief, he comes to steal and kill, to leave you broken, standing still. But I have come to give you life, to end your sorrow, calm your strife. When you are low, and you cry out, "Lift me up!", He casts out doubt. He saves the lowly, sets you free, to live in His abundance, peacefully.

When hidden wounds begin to bleed, and pride sows discord, bitterness seeds, With tangled thoughts that twist and turn, lessons of forgiveness we must learn. Our minds unfocused, far from grace, searching for a resting place, He tells us, "Take your thoughts captive, let My Word make your spirit live."

Cast your worries, do not fear, bring your burdens, He is near. With thanks and prayer, make your requests known, His peace transcends, from His high throne. He guards your heart, He guards your mind, a love unconditional, you'll find. No longer lowly, but cherished, blest, in His abundance, find your rest.
